Mississippi Live & the Dirty Dirty are an Alt-Country / SouthernRock / Heavy-Blues band out of Vancouver, Canada. They have release 3 full length studio albums and one EP. They are currently working on a new studio album & are slated to begin recording at Leeroy Stagger's Rebeltone Ranch in early May. 

The band is headed up by singer-songwriter Robert Connely Farr, who grew up in the small southern town of Bolton, Mississippi, home town of Charley Patton & The Mississippi Sheiks. Prior to moving to Vancouver, he studied architecture at Auburn University & graduated from the late Samuel Mockbee's Rural Studio non-profit design build school. Connely currently resides in Vancouver, Canada but when he's at home in Mississippi, can most likely be found pickin & grinnin at the Blue Front Cafe in Bentonia, Mississippi with his friend & mentor Jimmy "Duck" Holmes

Drummer Jay B. Johnson is, among other things, a sculptor/teacher/creator/producer. Hailed by the Georgia Straight as "one of Canada’s finest drummers", Jay has been a major presence in cherished Vancouver bands such as The Bonus Boys, Maurice & the Clichés, Random Variables, Moccasin Telegraph and The Swagmen. His most notable work has been with legendary singer/songwriter and producer, Billy Cowsill. Johnson’s 11-year tenure with Billy & The Blue Shadows included the release of two critically acclaimed Alt-Country recordings and hundreds of live shows across Canada and the United States. Along with the Dirty Dirty, Jay currently performs with the alt-country/outlaw bands Herald Nix and collaborated extensively with the late Mac Pontiac. 

Jon Wood plays lead guitar for the Dirty Dirty & is also a producer and multi-instrumentalist with over 25 years of experience in the music industry. Having worked with many of Canada’s indie/alt-country artists, including the likes of Herald Nix, Cam Penner, and many other artists on Vancouver's Northern Electric label. Jon is also a renowned singer/songwriter himself with his own project, Flophouse Jr, receiving critical acclaim, including “Americana Album of the Month” in UK's Mojo magazine. When he's not making music, he's either making beer or you can catch him in his shop Exile on Main Street, one of the sweetest vintage guitar stores in Vancouver. 

Tom Hillifer (Daggermouth, Slim Fathers, WPP, The Got To Get Got) is the newest member of the Dirty Dirty, playing bass as well as a vital part of song pre-production. Ben Yardley is a renowned lead guitarist on the Vancouver music scene. Originally from Salt Spring Island, he has supported numerous bands & has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. Some of his more notable projects include Chinatown, (MTV’s “Jackass”) and his current band La Chinga, are currently riding high on the hog as the ultimate Vancouver boogie-rockers. They are about to release thier 3rd studio album. Right on!
